MEPC 81/INF.36: Air Pollution Prevention: Global update on scrubber (EGCS) bans and restrictions

This document summarizes a study by the International Council on Clean Transportation (ICCT) that provides an update on measures restricting the use of scrubbers in various countries and ports.
The update includes information up to February 2023, categorizing measures as bans or more limited restrictions. The analysis is organized into five regions: 1. European Union, United Kingdom and Norway; 2. Asia; 3. the Americas; 4. Oceania; and 5. Africa and the Middle East. A supplementary spreadsheet is available on ICCT’s= website with detailed descriptions of the bans and restrictions, along with links to official documents where available.
